Perry Bechtel in the mid 1920s with his Gibson Style O, a guitar described by one of Cable’s instrument managers as “freak shaped.” Note that the cutaway side has 15 frets clear of the body, which is probably why Bechtel requested a 15-fret neck on his custom Martin — a request that was declined.
